    • What To Do, When You Don’t Know What To Do: Confusion is a fact of life, but so is God’s guidance. We often face times when we don’t know what to do. However, as we trust Christ, he will bring clarity to our life and lead us joyfully through the maze. Madison Park Church is embarking on a life-changing 50-day Adventure, through June 10, titled “What to Do, When You Don’t Know What to Do” which explores eight topics to help build trust in Christ during confusing times.
    • 50-Day Adventure Journals: The 50-Day Adventure journals, a companion to the Sunday morning teaching series, will enrich your adventure as you explore God’s Word deeper and learn how to apply the Word to everyday living. For most people, participation takes about 10 minutes a day. Download the journal or stop by the Information Center.
    • 50-Day Adventure Small Groups: New Small Groups are forming for the duration of the 50-Day Adventure. Sign up for a group by contacting Sarah Trick, Director of Adult Discipleship and Education at the Church Office. Or to participate in a Small Group during the Wednesday evening service at 6:30pm, simply show-up and you’ll have a chance to join a group.
  • Birthday Celebration for James Eckman: Sunday, April 26, 2:00-4:00pm in the Hospitality Room. Family and longtime friends invite you to celebrate with James Eckman as he turns eighty. Cards and birthday wishes are welcome, no gifts please.

Feeling Dis-connected

by Jim Lyon, Senior Pastor

When Maureen and I bought our home (“on the road to nowhere,” as I am fond of saying) eighteen years ago, I failed to ask two important questions: (1) does anyone deliver pizza to this address? and (2) is cable television available at this address? It never occurred to me, back then, that I could buy a home anywhere in the United States where the answer to either of those questions (let alone both) would be, “No.”

Almost two decades have passed and pizza and cable TV remain elusive dreams out here on 450 North, somewhere between Green Acres and Petticoat Junction. After pleading repeatedly with local cable providers for service, I gave up; my house is, in fact, on the road to nowhere.  I half expect Mr. Haney and Arnold the Pig to show up the next time I call.

We Do Care

MPC-goers showed its love and compassion for our community in its time of need by collecting 3,248 pounds of food for Madison County through Second Harvest Food Bank. The largest recipient will be Operation Love Ministries (OLM).

MPC is part of the alliance of churches, businesses and individuals serving together to bring help and hope to low income residents of Madison County through OLM. Their mission is to serve the community by meeting the emergency physical and emotional needs of persons in order to share Christ’s love with them. Throughout the cold winter supplies were shared with many persons in need and the food pantry was severely depleted. Thanks to all MPC-goers who provided canned goods and non-perishable food to help replenish supplies.
